This photograph is a myth-buster. Supposedly, the SS took over all Postschutz units in 1942, and they were all to wear SS uniforms from there on out.
This pic was taken in Utrecht on may 7 1945, thereby establishing that regular Postschutz uniforms continued to be worn after 1942.NEC SOLI CEDIT

An interesting photograph in several ways including the unhappy looking Postschutz guy. I don't see a sleeve eagle or a cap eagle on the Postschutz fellow. Also, the US soldier has a Civilian US triangle on his jacket indicating he is an armed (with a German pistol) US Army Military Contractor... probably a Government Affairs specialist or perhaps a postman himself trying to reestablish postal service. There appears to be Brit with a beret hanging on the side of the truck so I would think this is an occupation photo.

Hope he is able to shed light into the development from the early cuffband (when introduced exactly) and following up: the patches with Post Schutz indication or without and with the eagle looking to the left and right wing!

Did not have the time, but I must say the book is okay in many ways. Text is in German and that will bring reading problems to foreigners, not having much knowledge about the German language.
As always I have learned new things, especially about Postluftschutz and SS-Postschutz! Mr. Schweizer did a good job!!
