Are you sure? I bet an arm and a leg, that these guys are not Police volunteers

I see on them the shoulder straps of the 1919 standard, which were used by the police. Have these shoulder straps been used by justice officials? I think the photographs show the police who were transferred to the Wehrmacht in 1934-1935.

There are firemen in this photo. They also use caps with an early Wehrmacht eagle.

I think the photographs show the police who were transferred to the Wehrmacht in 1934-1935.

OK, that could be the reason.

This one is very special, at least for me.


It was my very first imperial Police photo. I got it around 1982 out of the family of my former mother in law. It shows her great-grandfather Polizeiinspektor Hennies (on the right) and a Kommissar. Hennies was chief of my hometown in the early 1900s (population at that time 38000).

The very same photo has been published in 1986.

In 1989 I gave this photo to a friend. He had it in his collection since than......and now I got it back............
