Thought I'd test the waters here with a US Police presentation badge to see if there any others out there waiting to be published. Here is one in white gold with a yellow gold insert around a diamond presented to a Milwaukee dectective presumably when he retired by his friends in the department. This would have been a private purchase badge since the department would not have spent that kind of money. Enjoy

Fred,
A nice custom die badge. I have not seen one quite like it before. I particularly like what I presume to be the all seeing eye centerpiece. An old police icon to be sure. I can only wish my retirement badge was this nice.
Can we see a photo of the clasp in the back? What time period do you believe this badge to be?

George the badge is smaller copy of the regular detective shield of that time. This one is dated 1927. I'll attach a scan of the reverse and one of the regular issue for comparison. What is really wild to my way of thinking is that the Milwaukee detective badges were not numbered back then. Never thought of the all seeing eye sybolism until you mentioned it.Attached Files
