Just wanted to share this family portrait of a customs official with his wife and two daughters. The photo was taken in Brunndöbra, which should be a small place in Sachsen just near the Czech border.

One small question, is he a Zollbetriebsassistent or a Hilfszollbetriebsassistent? I'm not an expert, but understood that both ranks wore +/- the same insignia.

Due to cross dark green stripe on his shoulderboards he is HiZBAss (Hilfszollbetriebsassistent). All Hilfs-ranks wore this dark green stripe on their shoulderboards, most of all wore normal Heer-uniform with RFV insignia added, only special RFV item was RFV Schirmmütze...

(RFV = Reichsfinanzverwaltung)

Thanks for your informative reply Jiri! Really appreciated.
He was probably a boarder guard on the boarder with Czechoslovakia before the annexation. (the M36 Feldbluse is a sign for that too, though it was still worn later in the war as well)
