      Hi Bill,

A recent pickup off Estand. I beleive this is a Renault Grand Sport. Possibly 1939 model.

      Cheers,
      Larry

That's a very nice colour print you have there.

            Hi Larry:
Sorry, I thought I had mentioned before, that my secondary interest after military softskins is luxury cars from the mid 1930 period to the mid 1950 period.

I left that area of interest some 15 years ago but have a pretty large collection of books, photos, brochures/catalogues etc. on the subject.

Also Hearses, Ambulances and For Hire Limousines and that collection goes up into the early 1990 period.

Not much for this forum except for the luxury cars used by the various forces from impressed/confiscated stocks.
            Bill

I'm too lazy to go thru this entire thread to see if this has been posted before, but I always thought this was neat:

Here's a Kriegsmarine officer in Feldgrau and his minty Citroen Traction Avant. Note the holzgas powered vehicle in the background.

                  Hi Gunbunny,

Nice photo of a Citroen. Good to see WM numberplate.
Looks like a customized one as well.

                  Cheers,
                  Larry

                        Hi Torsten:

This is not your exact car but is one of a small number of Grand Prix Delage D6 vehicles made in the middle to late 1930's. If I am correct, I think yours is a 1939 variant.
                        See photo.

Oh Yes, but not very practical. Top speed about 200 kmh, very skinny tyres and not set up for anything but a prepared racing track.

On the other hand, your photo shows it as a messenger vehicle, probably behind the lines or at least in made up areas so if they kept it in the lower gears I guess it might have survived a few months.

I have actually seen other French racing vehicles used by the Germans on various ebay postings so it was not all that unusual.

Thanks for posting this very unusual photo.

                              Hi Bill,

A couple of reasonably rare photo additions to my collection.
First one is a GMC ACK-353 sanitats truck.

                              Cheers,

More GMC sanitats trucks. Not sure about the sanitats car, any ideas?
