    Waffen SS Postcards

    Hey peeps

Aquired lately 3 postcards and wanted a second/third opinion on their authenticity. Maybe someone who has similar in their collection can compare and shed some light, that'd be great.

They all have stamps on them and I tried to capture some small details which could provide further details that might help in establishing originality.

    Cheers

Cards a0Peear to be good period cards. BUT....condition is not good and severely affects price. In the shape they are still n only a new or very anxious individual

would pay any good money for them.

      Thanks.

Would be super to have someone posting some pics with their own so we may compare. Condition is not that poor, they are not mint but not damaged either, showing the fingerprint of time.

Anyone else ? I've seen identical post cards for sale on various militaria corners. Wondering if anyone has such in their collection.

          Hi,

the three postcards are originals, but the pictures you provided are of low quality, so it is hard to see their caracteristics.

The "Polizei im Fronteinsatz" is quite common, value is around 15-20 euros.

The "Deutsche Jugend" is the generic variation, all the similar Anton postcards for the SS-Hauptamt are all overpriced and most wanted. You can count to at least 100 euros.

          See You

            Hi,

            stop the press !

After checking the high-quality pics, the postcards appear to be bad color reprints... The texts on the back of the pictures are just badly done, and the stamps are too new... The cancellations are also hollow and ugly and were printed after the stamps were glued on the printed postcards.

I'm waiting more infos on the paper of the Polizei postcard, and the text of the SS postcard.

            Below are some close-ups.

I'm very sorry for the bad news...

            See You

              Hi,

below an original generic "Deutsche Jugend" postcard.

It is confirmed that the Polizei postcard has the same weight as the others, confirming my doubts...
The print on the back of the "Deutsche Jugend" is also just horrible (see below)...

                Hi,

too bad that the WAF member sold them as originals on eBay...
                Someone got badly burned.

                See You

It is interesting to note the Lanzinger Hilter card bears the Condor Legion 1939 Sonderstempel with a Hitler definitive stamp that did not appear until late summer of 1941. Clearly falsch.

                  Cheers,

                  Ramon

59$ selling bid shows that quite a few collectors didn´t take the bait. Could have come worse for the bidder. I always thought fakers are rather doing the rare and expensive cards- the police card is, as said, often sold for 14$- so why doing the time consuming faking job for a few bucks?

                      Hi,

the seller was not the original "faker", and if the postcards costs even 1 usd to print, this is still very profitable to sell them more than 25 usd each. Profit x25 !
Also people on eBay are not that stupid, many probably saw that the postcards where "not good".

Clearly bad fakes.... The dirt/grime on the cards appears printed also...

The started of this thread has some explaining to do as to why he knowingly sold these fakes as original on eBay....!!!

                            Hi,

i'm quite used to contact sellers that are proposing fakes on eBay, and unfortunately i noticed that people from every country are involved.
I got perfectly good contacts and stuff from Romania and other eastern countries in the past.
