    Hello,
I am not altogether sure if this is snow, I think it is, but it could be sand?
Anyway, it does fit the bill for atmosphere.
    Cheers,
    Kerry.

Here is one I love from my collection - a morning photo with atmosphere.

Recently I started a new company, which is eating all my time.
I'll try to post something from time to time though...

[QUOTE=Mil-Archive;8117964]Not sure if this is right for the thread. I find it captivating so hopefuly it fits the bill.

Originally thought this was a firing squad but discussed it on Axis and was told it could also be a staging area showing people being held before transport to somewhere else. I'll let you decide. This is Croatian Home guard 'Domobrani' & the civilians are believed either Serb or Roma.

Croatian and serbs were not what we could call friends. So much guards for so few people?just rember how much guards (us or german) you can see with US or germans war prisoners

I always thought this was the most atmospheric photo of the war--it sums up the TR in one photo: the turrent pointed ominously eastward; the tank an example of monumentalism run amuck; the misplaced priorities of the TR in terms of resources; over-engineering; a fruitless defense; etc, etc, etc.

Atmospheric and thought provoking. Two half-buried Mausers, three magnetic mines and other equipment. Is it abandoned? What is the story?

Herr Feldwebel would not like the snow covered rifles. No body home in my opinion.

I'm loving this thread. You fellows have shown some very nice photos that communicate so much. Here are a few more I'd like to share.

I know that they are common as dirt, but I really love the shots of artillery/Flak firing at night and searchlights probing the sky.

                            Regards,
