Hello
Would you pay EUR 29.000,00 for 4 photos ? On ebay, "Sofort Kaufen".....
Personally i wouldnt, and IF i had the money i wouldnt use it on these 4 photos.
Could such photos if bought be considered as a investment ?
Any opinions are welcomed..

Torsten - there were no pictures.

The seller has shown no pictures because of the "extreme rarity" of them.
I think we missed nothing.
And that Ebay has already closed the auction was to be expected.
In this case this stupid seller had at least luck, he doesn't have to pay the Ebay costs.
I am sure he doesn't understand the world now.

This post really stirs up some painful memories for me. When I was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas several years ago, I made the acquaintance of an elderly lady that ran a small antique shop. One day, on one of my many visits, she showed me a stack of period, private photos (about 40) that featured some incredible subject matter. About 75% of the photos featured two highly decorated SS officers (including the Knights Cross) all very clear and up-close. The other 25% featured gruesome death camp photos showing stacks of bodies behind the wire (utterly repulsive). At the time I was making about $950.00 a month, had a wife, and new baby, so the $50.00 that she was asking for the entire lot was out of the question for me. To this day, I kick myself for not pawning something to get them . I could have been very wealthy

Just when the party was over there was another guest that decided to go on..
I dont search for things that cost a lot, but stubled over a new one today.
I trust that the buyer get som very nice photos for his money..

Same seller - same auction.

This time he doesn't write the name Adolf Hitler in the text. But he is speaking about the same four photos. Probably he thinks that interested buyers will ask about the photos via email.
I do not really know what's going on with this auction, but I have a strong feeling that there is something wrong with it.
Anyway, the price is ridiculous.
Even if these four photos are showing Hitler in a real private atmosphere, it is absolutely stupid to fix a starting price like this.

Jeff - White-Sausage-Continent ?

Tobau means that the people from Oberbayern (Upper-Bavaria) are living on the Weisswurstkontinent, the part of Bavaria where you can get those marvellous, delicate, superb tasty white sausages . In opposite the people from Franken (which is roughly the part of Bavaria north from the river Donau around Nürnberg ) prefer to eat little fat sausages like Nürnberger Rostbratwürstl or sausages called Fränkische Rostbratwurst ( pronounced: A frrenggischä ) .
Not really bad, ehm, well, okay.
