              Hi,

the "LMG-Schütze der Waffen-SS" (LAH MG-34 gunner, MG-Schütze 1) painting by SS-PK Kriegsberichter Krause is taken from the "Männer der Waffen-SS" serie.

The "Spähtrupp der Waffen-SS" painting by SS-PK Kriegsberichter Krause is taken from the "SS im Kampf" serie.

Both series were published in German and Danish by Verlag Küster & Co GmbH, Essen.

              See You

Wow! Some really interesting covers. A bunch of the Kursk photo spreads and cover shots I know very well. I used some of the same images in my six volume photo book series "Waffen-SS KURSK 1943".

The images I used were enlarged scans made from the original contact sheets stored at the US National Archives. It's really very interesting to see how some of the more dramatic images were selected and used on the covers and inside spreads of this German regional magazines. Thanks again for sharing these with us.

                      Hi,

"Die Deutsche Polizei", N°16, August 15, 1943, illustration by Palmonski ("Sturmangriff").

"Die Deutsche Polizei", N°20, October 15, 1943, illustration by Wigforss ("Ein Wald wird gesäubert").

(Those two issues will be proposed for sale on the e-stand with a lot of "Die Deutsche Polizei" magazines in the next hours).

                      See You

                        !

                        Nice ones Vince,

The one of the left by Wilhelm Petersen is also on his postcard series.

The one on the right, hard to make out the SS-PK signature although it looks like the work of Wigfors'....?

                          Hi,

the Petersen illustration is listed as "Palmowski", and i can confirm that the other one is like you said Wigforss.

Not sure what I was thinking when I said Petersen.... Of course it is from Postcard set by SS-PK Erich Palmowski...

Wigforss distinctive style is one of my favourite SS-PK artists.

A recent addition that I have not yet received...

Cover image from a well known sequence of photos by SS-PK Zschäckel, taken in Kharkov.

Not in great condition but a hard issue to find.
