    Hi,
As your guy wears the Infantry shooting lanhyard, he could be PzJäger instead of Panzermann.

      Not necesary..

Of course he could be a tank-member, as only 1 tanker (of the 4 or 5 which form a crew) is a gunner, so only he would therefore receive the Panzer-shooting lanyard.
Glad you took them over Bill

the Wehrmacht-era Schützenschnur was introduced in June 1936, while the special version for armored units was introduced in October 1938. So, for a period of more than two years, personnel of armored/panzer units were awarded the same standard lanyard as all the others. The Waffenrock portrait may well have been taken during that period. Therefore, I truly believe his waffenfabre/piping to be pink, panzer. Believe me, the thought did cross my mind tho Jacques!
It could also be that the special Panzer Lanyard was only awarded for firing achievements with a Panzer's main weapon, so that a Panzer crewman who had qualified with small arms would get the standard version. Im not too sure though, maybe someone else can help out there.
