It's based upon the famous 1933 portrait by Bruno Jacobs.

Thanks Max and IMI. Would this be an original painting I wonder and the artist was influenced by Jacobs?

Here is the original Bruno Jacob painting in the form of a Heinrich Hoffmann published postcard. Hoffmann also sold this image in the form of prints suitable for framing. The image shown in the OP's image does not quite match this Jacob image as evidenced by the angle of the tie and collar.

I didn't say it was Jacob's painting, but it was based upon his painting. It's quite common for artists to produce their own versions of particular well known paintings. There are literally thousands of different portrait paintings of Hitler where the artist only had a previous image to use as a model. The vast majority are very amateur, but a number are quite expertly executed.

As has been the case in the past, you have the wrong end of the stick. You were not accused of misjudging the painting in the OP's image. You correctly stated it is based upon the Bruno Jacob painting. i agree with you. But you are so thin skinned and fearful of being challenged. You were not being challenged. A little less drama on your part would make you a much more pleasant fellow. On your bike.

                  Sigh.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Why are you so aggressive? I was just clarifying to the OP that it wasn't Jacob's actual painting, but probably one of many attempted copies based on it as my original post didn't make it clear. It's over-sensitive and rude replies like yours that ruin reasonable discussion and put people off joining in.

Correct...The painting is based on Jacob's work.

However, what is important is how the painting is very prominate and important. Showing how bad the economy was and how AH helped many out of poverty.

Love the expression on the child...perhaps Uncle Adolf just walked in.

                      Best, M

I agree. The kid's expression is in direct contrast to the more serious look of the grandparents. Maybe she(?) was so excited as it was Christmas.
