Hi all,
I got this card and photos at the weekend. My friend in Berlin does clearances and we took some boxes to his house that he'd just got in a clearance and went through them and found these.
I've done a lot of research and Lt Schwarze was involved in the raid on Portland Harbour and on HMS Foylebank on 04/07/40 on the first day of Kanalkampf. He was in the only aircraft lost that day and according to a first hand testimony he was the pilot who bombed Jack Foreman V.C (and subsequently killed him with machine gun fire) and he was shot down by Jack Foreman V.C so directly involved in a Victoria Cross action.
I'm back in Berlin in 2 weeks and I hope my friend has found some additional paperwork as we were very rushed looking through the other day.
It's probably the most interesting piece of paperwork that I've found.
Regards,
Joe
