From an Archive of a PK from the 29th ID, Aufl Regiment I recently acquired. It had well over 1000 photos with the negatives including around 200 color shots. I am working on researching it and then will probably publish a bildband compilation with translation of the journals from the same soldier that came with the set.

        Just a teaser..,

bill, nice pics. extremely rare to see a balkenkreuz on a german softskin! finally a proof for that odd habit commonly seen in cheap war movies from the 60ies-70ies to dress up all kind of allied material with GIANT german crosses as evil nazi vehicles. ,-)

                          Werner,

Yes I was an avid watcher of the TV series "Combat" That had the Balken Cross on every German vehicle.

Here is a pic of another motorcycle with the Balkenkreuz just to show it just wasn't a figure of your imagination. - Bill

oh my goodness, this really wrecks my carefully nurtured theory that any balkenkreuz on german softskins is bogus. honestly, in 25 years i hadnt seen a single vehicle marked like this. but it is as with any wh-stuff, if you´re too sure about it, sooner or later that one big exception to the rule will surface...
back to the mc´s : here is one from my vaults, KS 750 ? from an unknown LwFd unit, Russia 1943 in front of a pak&tractor combo. the type of the tracked vehicle escapes me at the moment.

                                Werner,

Sorry about crushing your theory on Balkenkreuz's. I wonder what would happen if a tortoise should happen to appear marked with a balkenkreuz?? Here are a few MC's instead.
