Norwegian Aase Grill Fasting was a frontline nurse with the German Red Cross.
The link is to a recent interview in Norwegian with pictures of her in 2009.

And sorry Byterock, this is certainly not Esther Williams. You can check out an early appearance of Esther Williams as a young actress in the wartime (1943) fantasy film "A Guy Named Joe." You'll quickly see that the two women are very different.
Cheers,

That looks like Olivia DeHavilland, not Ester Williams. I have some pictures of her, Errol Flynn and others in a USAAF vet photo album from the Aleutians.
She visited Shemya in March, 1944.

Thinking back to post 884, how in the world did the photographer get her to pose topless in a "prudish" society that was America in the 40's??? This looks like a normal outdoors type date. I have seem European women topless in photos, but never American.
To Shootor, by your comment you missed the whole point of this thread. The women we see (especially European) are showing us their natural, unmade up beauty, that is something to envy. Yes, some are better than others, but most of these women would never be thrown out of a bed.

There were lots of underground photos and artwork showing full frontal nudity as well as pornography. Not something you would see in Colliers or Life magazine. I have seen cartoons of topless women in Military newspapers. Pinup pictures and artwork were pretty suggestive. I remember seeing female nudes (see through tops) in pictures in vet albums. I have one in my collection now showing full frontal nudity (actually although it is a drawing). A lot of noseart on US aircraft would of never make it past the censors either. I've even seen very risqué cartoons depicting sex acts in U.S. Vet albums but it is rare and usually humorous like in Playboy.Last edited by NARVIK1940; 02-15-2015, 11:49 PM.
