4. SS-Frw.-Pz.-Gren.-Brig. Nederland doc group

I just got this small group in and would like to check if it is ok as it would not fit into my collection. I don´t have any doubts but i would like to know what you´re thinking.

Very nice group Christian. I'mm feeling comfortable with the Wagner signature.

I'm not 100% sure but he most probably earned EK1 in the Luga/Pleskau area with Grenadier Regiment 320 under the wings from 4.SS few Panzer Grenadier Brigade Nederland. Grenadier Regiment 320 had the strenght of a Kampfgruppe around that time.

Interesting documents , 26/3/44 Nederland was still a Brigade as per the stamp so not sure why the doc would say Div Commander ??

On the date of issue of the document Nederland was entrenched in the Narva Bridgehead and before that had been involved in the retreat from the Oranianbaum pocket area to Narva which was well away from the 320 GR ( 212 ID ) area of Operations !!

Just done some checking and 212 ID was part of XXVI Korps in Jan 44 and quite likely fought with Nederland during the retreat and initially around Narwa !!

Perhaps Kuratorium can say what the date on the other document for Wagner's signature comparison is. The ranks are different and the units on the stamps are looking the same. Wagner was promoted to ss brigadefuhrer und generalmajor der waffen ss in april 1944

In early1944, the Germans were trying to fool the Soviets about just how weak the III.(germanisches) SS-Panzerkorps really was. So the Brigade Nederland was referred to as "Division Nederland" in all official correspondence, as ordered on January 13, 1944 (quoted from the KTB in the Vincx/Schotanius book on Brigade/Division Nederland).

Correct at that time he was still in the Wehrmacht but was later promoted to Oberscharführer and was KIA on 28.07.1944 in the west of Narwa.
