Yes, Lack of combat = lack of decorations. a pretty cush job when compared to the men freezing in Russia!

Well, the fellow in my photo did do a bit of freezing in Russia, you can just make out that he wears the ribbon of the OstmedailleComment

Anyone know how many men served with this unit?
Of course the only "proof" that this man was with the SS-Begleitkommando and not another SS unit is the writing on the back of the photo, and anyone could have written that... but it could be fun to know if someone named "Alfons" actually served with the SS-Begleitkommando in 1944.Comment
