Super rare photo of a kilt wearing Scottish Free Legion volunteer.

His "girlfriend" was so impressed by her little soldier's achievments that she awarded him a "special" Knight's Cross.

For disgracing his unit during field exercises, giving away their ambush position by giggling, this HG Division soldier faced their wrath. He was tickled until he wet his pants, the punishment made worse by the sand that got in his crack.

"Little" Willi and Otto before the tragic accident. On the night of September 16, 1944 a particularly heavy Allied air raid took place. During the excited confusion of battle, Otto mistook "Little" Willi for an 88mm shell and rammed him into the breach, disabling both the gun and Willi.
