As soon as someone who is - not yet - known here and accepted (better to say: has had the balls to fight his way through to have to be accepted) posts a freakin´ awesome, rare, original and therefore mostly valuable item especially the known experts try to hack up the piece and it´s owner.

    Nice try.

Congrads for owning and thank you for sharing this unique piece of SS history.

Why it has been judged as a fake is beyond my imagination.
Thorsten, you are quite right.....I just had a good friend look at it.... the worlds greatest authority ....David Irving. He said yes, authentic.
You wont get better than that.

With the greatest respect, David Irving is a historian, not an experienced autograph specialist and he is mistaken. May I also remind you that one of the world's greatest historians, Lord Dacre (Hugh Trevor-Roper,) declared the Hitler diaries as genuine before an autograph expert (Ken Rendell) examined them and without hesitation immediately pointed out they were fakes.
Anyway, I stand by my original assessment......it's an obvious fake, no matter what Irving says or doesn't say. Whether you accept that or not is your choice. It matters not to me.
      Max.

        Max.
It was David who famously burst into the Stern press launch and declared the diaries a hoax.
David has been through more original documents and translated more Himmler letters than anyone on Earth.
Its laughable for anyone to attempt to compare their knowledge with that of David Irving.
Wewelsburg, you can rest easy. If you want me to put you in touch with David let me know.

You can say what you like, it's still a fake and yes, I do challenge Irving's assessment of this card.

Thats a bit like a third grade maths teacher correcting Albert Einstein on Relativity.
When your beat, just lay down.

Good. You can bring in the 8th Army if you like, but it won't change the fact that the handwriting on the postcard is not that of Himmler and even if Irving says it's real, he's wrong. I know it, you know it and any qualified Third Reich autograph specialist knows it.

Hello Obersalzberg, I am now totally confused as far as this card is concerned ! So many different opinions. Authentic: yes- no- yes -no...I am a pretty new member on this website and don´t know if Max is an Expert or if all the other guys who said that the card is authentic are experts. I also was once in touch with Mr. Irving and have his email address. Thank you for your offer to get in touch with him ! Anyway, I am just thankful about all of your opinions, support and private mails. Thanks to all !

                    Wewelsburg,
There are no experts on this paper forum, just experienced specialists. In fact, the only person to have claimed to be an expert is Obersalzberg and his self-opinionated expertise has been shown to be nothing of the sort. He has apparently joined this forum with the sole intention of causing trouble and takes every opportunity to attack certain opinions and muddy the waters. It doesn't take a genius to work out his motives when his obvious targets are identified.
As far as David Irving is concerned, I have a great deal of respect for him as an investigative historian, but on handwriting and autographs he does not possess the necessary specialist expertise. Asking him to authenticate a handwritten piece is akin to asking Heinz Hohne to authenticate a SS helmet. He is not qualified. And of course that is if you believe Mr. Irving has even been asked to authenticate this particular item.
If you are still undecided, my suggestion to you is to submit your postcard to a recognised Third Reich autograph expert, not a historian or militaria dealer, for a definitive assessment. I would consider someone of the stature of Kenneth W. Rendell in the USA. In the UK, Richard Davie or Ian Sayer in Spain have the necessary expertise. I am confident that any one of these will confirm that it is a forgery, no matter what Obersalzberg or his cohorts say.
                    Max.

I have not claimed to be an expert....you retracted that last time you said it.
Wewelsburg, just contact David as you did before, he is currently working on his seminal piece on Himmler.
He will happilly confirm what I have just told you. Ignore the opinions of max....as someone stated here, jealousy plays a big part in their lives.

No Dog (ha, ha) in this fight, but these - IMO - are just as "original" as this "Himmler" Card:

Yes, I keep getting you two mixed up don't I? I wonder why......?
As for jealousy......don't be ridiculous. Why on earth would I be jealous? What of?

If you do send the rubbish example to David Irving for his "expert autograph" opinion, send him a real one to compare also.
This real one is dated just 3 months prior to the crap one and anyone can see it's written by a different hand. It's also addressed to the correct address of Himmler's parents, originates from the correct address of Himmler and is addressed in the correct manner to his parents.
The fact of copying (being drawn) is plainly obvious when a genuine example is compared.
