        I believe that the Army Air Corps was trying to take credit for knocking out that Panther. Actually to my understanding it was being used for target practice by some Army unit which was not unusual. The USAAF sent teams around to claim their kills by taking photos of them whether they knocked them out or not. I have two of the very same photo of this Panther in my collection that came out of GI photo albums. These Panther pics were printed up in various quantities by the photographer and sold as souvenirs to the GI's.

        Since we are on the subject of knocked out German tanks....here are a couple of new arrivals

                    Here the last jagdpanther from Schw Pz Jag Abt 559 left behind by the crew in Holland november 1944. Zevenbergsche Hoek/ Tweede Tol area. This picture is probably made by English troops

                        very nice stuff guys,heres a pic from my collection out of a a U.S soldiers album that served in N.Africa and Italy,one of 8 photos of destroyed german armor in the album-there are 4 pics of Pz.IV's,a stug,an Italian assault gun,a werkstatt comp.? recovery tiger and a brumbar,all very clear detailed pics!

                            theres another pic of a jadgpanther from the market garden op where a c-47 crashed into a knocked out jadgpanther!its n ot my pic so i wont post it but it was on anther thread!very intrested pics posted though!!
