    Werner,

Great photos! Especially the RSO!! Thanks for posting.

    Hello Merdock,

Sorry you missed out on some really great photos in this thread. Everytime Sebastian upgrades this website...photos suddenly disappear into thin air!!!! I just happen to receive two knocked out Sturmgeschutz photos today so I'm posting them for everyones viewing pleasure. These came out of a small 3rd AD grouping. - Bill

StuG #1 - Typically the GI who took the photo wrote on the reverse "Tiger Royal"

        Bill-

Glad to see these went to a good home!

They would have been mine, but I recently committed to a few rather expensive purchases so unfortunately had to pass

These are StuG.IV wrecks from the 17.ss.Pz.Gr.Div "Götz von Berlichingen" and - as far as I know - are totally "new," unpublished photographs.

        Congrats on the pickups

sorry guys to tease you about the RSO!
sadly the image is so blurry, that all features indicative of a diesel powered 03 that would be visible from the pics******180;perspective - such as the 2 maintenance lids in the front underride, the modified battery box - are too obscured to be sure. many more RSO******180;s with the simplified, open cab were fitted with the Steyr V8 engine and were labeled - as the variant w. closed/rounded steel cab - RSO/01 (the term RSO/02 was never officially used).
even less to see here: debris incl. steel cab RSO that has been pushed down a roadside near Rome. note the le. FH.

              Hi Werner...
This column was shot by allieds airplane on the road between the town of Cori and Giulianello, 25 miles from Rome, approximately in 25 may 1944 when the beach-head of Anzio-nettuno start forward.
              regards
              Marco.

First of all i would like to say i see a lot of beautifull pictures in this topic. And i learned a lot allready from you guys, thnks!

Only, one thing: While reading this topic i see a lot of abbreviations being used to point out important / often used words.

Is there a topic or website where i can find an explenation for these abbreviations. I found out a few abbreviations (and i am sure i am able to find the explenations for more abbreviations too), but a website would come in handy.

                        G'Day Guys

First of all, great shots Bill. The StuG IV is definately my fav vehicle and I have hundreds of images now that I've collect from various sources over the years. I'm glad to add a couple moe new ones. Thankyou for sharing.

Rob, I was wondering how you know these are from 17 Pz Gren "GVB"? The first picture maybe normandy but the second looks Ardennes to me and as far as I kown "GVB" didn't run any StuG IV's there. If you have some additional info on these it would be vvery welcomed

                        Cheers

                        Chris
