      Nice additions.

      Helmut Dollinger.

Dollinger was with Wittmann at Gaumesnil and provided the details of Wittmann's last moments.

Working with that Max Wunsche original is tough.
For a studio portrait in what should have been controlled lighting conditions, it's a really poor exposure. "Max, don't go back to *that* photographer again!" Well, a little late for Max now.

Helmut Dollinger looks like his was taken in one of those carnival photo booths.. LOL

And for an outdoor photo in what is often a difficult lighting environment, Heinz Harmel's outdoor picture looks really good. You did a good job on the restoration too.

Thanks Randy for the vote of confidence.

The Wünsche portrait is my favorite though definitely not ideal. The original I believe must be sharper though I dont own a copy or know where to source it from. Wünsche signed many of these post war for collectors. The others of Max from this sitting are better.

Any photo of Dollinger is rare and this is most likely a soldbuch sized photograph that survived. Fits nicely in my .pdf on Gaumesnil. =)

Here is a well know photo of SS-Hauptscharführer Hans Höflinger taken in France 1944. He was a crew member with Tiger tank ace Michael Wittman Tiger in Normandy.

A roll of film taken of the 2. SS "Das Reich" Panzer Division in May 1943. While resting and refitting before the upcoming Kursk offensive in July.

A staged photo for the Kriegsberichter showing the crew members of a Sturmgeschutz reacting to the alarm bell.

What's interesting in this photo is how they parked two Stug. IIIs next to each other and then using buttoned together Zeltbahn shelter quarters they made a shelter for sleeping in between the two armored assault guns.
