Gran's fantastic DRK grouping that he recently posted got me thinking,

Hanna Reitsch is the only officially confirmed female recipient of the Iron Cross 1st Class.
Several authors list another one: The German Red Cross nurse Else Großmann. This information is apparently based solely on a single article in an army newspaper from 1945. With no additional press coverage on the award and no offical documentation, this award appears doubtful.

Hanna was the only woman awarded the Iron Cross First Class and more surprisingly also awarded the Luftwaffe Combined Pilots-Observation Badge in Gold with Diamonds!!!

Looks like nobody here gets the meaning of this thread - its not about the most-decorated woman (of course its Hanna, no doubt, would be a short thread...). But to show the foto of the most decorated woman you own...

Correct Gran, you must own the photo, and she must be in service to Wehrmacht/SS.

So far, Gran is the winner.

And, I wouldn't object to seeing other collectors women adorned with KC's.... (in another thread)
