And an even bigger one... so old Hermann would have been jealous that is why the decoration never was widely published and announced

        To become more serious again...

        Grete Fock
The page of the honour album presented to Schwester Grete Fock on behalf of her awarding by Ernst R. Grawitz and a shot of her at the award date in Tunis.

Later in war she won the War Merit Cross with Swords, 2nd class and the AFRIKA armband.

Another shot of Hanny Weber at the award date... and a picture of her in her later years (the picture was taken on the day she handed over her documents).

              Lieselotte "Lilo" Maaßen... IC2

Her Paybook and a doubleexposure of a sleeping Lilo Maaßen and Sascha, the dog, that gave the Windhunddivision (the later 116. PzDiv) the name.

I'm guessing she was a civilian..

This is Fanni Luukkonen, long time leader of Lotta Svärd

It was more a para-military organisation, certainly not civilian and I would think she definitely qualifies as being one of the highest decorated females of the war.

Interestingly, when the Germans pulled out of Finland in the autumn of 44, a number of Lottas went with them, staying in Norway until the end of the war.
