Almost certainly the 69 Inf.Div. as that was their area winter 41\42.
One of the heavy companies of either IR 159 or 236 (4,8 or 12) as they were the ones with 8cm mortars. I'll see if i can narrow it down to at least which regiment.
If it's early enough, ie. dec.41 and before it could also be IR 193 before they were transferred to the Litza front.Last edited by Simon O.; 10-26-2009, 11:03 AM.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

That photo shows a pionier officer and we don't know what relation he has to the photographer.
The photo of the Kong Olaf in Stavanger may be the clue here as II./I.R.193 landed at Stavanger on the 9th April. By Jan 42 it was the battalion left behind initially when the rest of the regiment was sent to Gebirgskorps Norwegen on the Litza front and from what i can tell the battalion was for a while responsible for a large area that included Hallingdal.
That would mean then 8./Inf.Rgt.193Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
