Outstanding portraits Simon! I love the first photo with the unique Bergmütze also.

To my eye, it looks to be a Bergmütze made from Windjacke material...probably made by the company tailor...which was a common practice.

Nice one Koenigstiger.

Interesting tailor made flat variation of the medal bar. Note how crudely applied the ribbons are. The blue DA ribbon on the far right is quite a large one!

Two RKTs can be seen, Major Karl Ruef, who later wrote the divisions history and who commanded the battalion and on the right, wearing it seems all his decorations, Lt. Max Ropp who was given a battlefield commission shortly before the end of the war.
