He writes "Djepropetrowsk (Ukraine) - ma be an other town. Dnipropetrowsk would come near.

Translating documentation

A while back, Naxos agreed to translate my grandfather’s Fuhrungsbucher (Kriegsmarine service records) and some other documentation for me; unfortunately, I have not heard from him since. Is there anyone else who would be willing to do this for me? I can send scans of the pages, and I made up MS Excel tables for the pages I’d like translated, so you could type the translations directly into there. The translations can even be in German; the main issue is that my dad cannot read much of the old handwriting, and I certainly can’t, but he is at least fluent in German.

I would really like to get these translated for my dad for a Father’s Day or birthday present for him; he doesn’t know much about his father’s military service because it wasn’t talked about much, but he and I are both very eager to be able to read these documents. Having such translations will ensure future generations of my family can have this knowledge, too. There is some interesting stuff in there, like his service on board the Scheer during the ‘40/’41 patrol and service on the Konigsberg up to and including when it was sunk.
