    Hello !

    #12599 :
    - 2nd: what is the role of the Luftwaffe rank "planm.Feldwebel"? I suppose "planimetriche". May be a special role in a Luft Bau-Battalion ?
This is a shortcut for : "planmässiger Feldwebel"

The corresponding term would be : "ausserplanmässiger Feldwebel" (perhaps also Feldwebel über Plan ?!)

I am not 100 % sure on the details, but I am sure that there is no major difference between both ranks.

A translation of "planmässiger Feldwebel" could be something like :
    >> Feldwebel within the regular/standard organization <<,
while a ausserplanmässiger Fw. would be not in compliance with the regular/standard organization.
(this could refer to more high ranking NCOs present in a company, than officially allowed.)

For a better answer, it might be worth to ask this in the OOB subforum. I would be interested in the details too,
but couldn't find any clear info.

    Best regards,

    Archi

      Hello !

      #12592 :
That is really great research by Gerdan on a very difficult topic !

To confirm Gerdans findings, I'll attach a scan from Jammerbock II, by Henrik Schulze (excellent series of books
      on training ground Jüterbog).

The connection between the lawyers and the postal clerks is probably the following :
After the formation of the Hanns Kerrl Lager had turned out to be a big "Propaganda success",
from 1934 onward, groups from various other kinds of administrative or academic branches were forced
to participate in courses at the "Hanns Kerrl Lager" (even Dentists !).

Courses (~6 weeks) consisted of para miltary training, as marches, exercising, sports and political indoctrination.
In addition, other, similar camps were formed at different places.

As the cards says : "vom ersten Lehrgang" ... it should likely be written in 1934/35.

      Best regards,

      Archi
