          Making sense of a sentence

          Hello,
          I am trying to work out the best English translation for 'ziel Einwandfrei auszumachen'. the literal translate is 'aim properly to make out', which does not make sense.

          I would be really grateful for any advice with regards a better translation.

            It would more likely be something like target fully identified but without knowing the context of the phrase it is not exactly certain. Could you show or write the full context?

              Could also be something like "our target (goal) is clearly in sight and attainable". But yes, the whole sentence or paragraph for context would help.

                Thank you Pauke and Hank,
                I will scan the document and post it here when I can get to my scanner. However, these words belong to a post sortie report from a raid against England by Stuka Geschwader 3 in August 1940 which gives an overview regarding the mission and what happended.

                The whole line/sentence is as follows:

                Zielbeurteilung: Ziel einwandfrei auszumcachen.

                  In the context of a LW report it would be as posted that the target was clearly visible and obviously no cloud coverage blocking the view.
