I want to add my version of the missing word: "die jungen S... = Spunde von der koeniglichen..."

" Jung - Spund " means spring chicken / younker.

Last; can anyone help me with this name?

My own thought was Herbert Krummrei. Can anyone confirm this?
                    Anyone?

                      From a journal or notebook

I would really appreciate it if someone could translate these pages for me. I found the book amongst paperwork of my deceased Father. He did say years ago how he had found the book on the banks of the river Po in Italy in 1945. Thanks in advance.

The pages you show are partly an address book and also a diary written in Italy by a German military sorgeon 1944.

His name I read Dr. Alfred Hecht.

20.3.1944 he moved from Florence where his unit was in Villa Palmieri 15 km in the south to

                          stay in Villa Valcelli.

From 22.3.44 he worked with Feldlazarett 678 as surgeon.

In his calendary I found the date 21.7.1918 when his father was KIA in WW1.

So I had a look in the Volksbund list and I found his father listed:

                            Leopold Hecht

His father's grave in the cemetery in Soupir, France.

                            Grave: Block 1 Grab 1108

                            Nachname: Hecht
                            Vorname: Leopold
                            Dienstgrad: Kanonier
                            Todesdatum: 21.07.1918

                              Thank you

Thank you once again Gerdan. I appreciate your time and effort to translate the post for me. Would you have any idea of how I could track the person or family down so I could send them the photos and diary/book?

As his banc account which is also listed in the papers is the Deutsche Bank, Filiale Karlsruhe your guy should have had his home in Karlsruhe or very close to Karlsruhe.

You could contact the Stadtarchiv Karlsruhe and ask for information dealing with Dr. Alfred Hecht. As he was a physician/medical doctor it could be possible that they know more about his fate or family.

                                Here is the e-mail address:

                                archiv@kultur.karlsruhe.de

May be they can help you. You should explain they what you have.

                                Wish you all the best
