            Merchant Ship Officer --Name?

For years I've had several photos of this merchant ship officer/Blockadebrecher from 1941 through 1943 and I never knew he was.

Recently I just received a new photo of him -- only this time with a name on the back! Same type of pen, same style of writing, same form in letters.... only this time, there is a name on the back!

If someone could please read the last name of Oberleutnant (S) Carl ____________ (??)

            I'd greatly appreciate it!

            Thanks so much!

              Gentlemen-

Can someone provide assistance interpreting and translating this handwriting?

It is written by an Officer named Hans H. to a person with exactly the same name, I am assuming a son or relative, but I am not certain.

              Written from Lermoos, 1942.

              Thanks very much,

              Mike

Could be Dunkel (with the umlaut u, don't have it handy on my keyboard)

Thanks Hank! I actually had his name already cross-referenced in my data files. So your input tracks perfectly. Thanks so much! Joe
