Thank you very much. The pic is a ceremony at a pontoon bridge crossing, you can see it being made in the photo.

What are you saying about Woda in Poland?

      again thanks

I found "Vadul lui Voda" a place in today Moldava. Could be this place ? I think so.

          Thanks for researching Gerdan

There were two photos in the set I have, and here are both reverse showing the same wording, but maybe the second one may show the letters differently.

I know my writing is bad, but I can not make out any of the letters on these

and here is the picture of the river

          thanks
          Graeme

PS From the link you supplied I pulled out the following from the history

"As the war drew to a conclusion, the city was once more pulled into heavy fighting as German and Romanian troops retreated. Chișinău was taken by the Red Army on 24 August 1944 as a result of the Jassy-Kishinev Operation.

This ties in nicely with the dates on these photos

                  Photo Dedication Signed: "Erdmann ??"

                  Fellow Researchers and Collectors:

I am closing in on a possible identity for a couple of unknown men in my Archive. This Leutnant's dedication on the back of this photo just might be part of the key in unlocking some further details.

If anyone could please help with the dedication I would greatly appreciate it.

I can read: "besten Crew Kameraden zur Erinnerung an" and can see the photo was taken on the North Sea island of Wangerooge.

After that, I am unable to read any more.

                  Thanks!

I found some more words but one word could be not correct

"Meinem zweitbesten Crewkameraden zur Erinnerung an eine gemeinsam durchlebte und

durchlittene Artillerie (?) periode in Wangerooge - Heinrich

                    Erdmann"

                      AWESOME! Thanks Gerdan!

Hopefully this will unlock some more clues!
                      Really, really appreciate it!

                        Thoughts on the signature?

Also can someone help with translating the writing on the reverse.

                        Thank you

                          Feldpost--Name of the Sender

                          Fellow Researchers and Collectors:

I ask for your continued assistance and patience with just two more requests for today please.

The first comes from two Feldpost envelopes that have the stamp from the ship "Hansa." They are both addressed to the same person and I believe they are both sent from the same person as well.

Can any read the name of the sender? And if you can make out his rank, that would be a great bonus as well.

                          Thank you very much!

                              Kriegsmarine Photo Dedication

                              Fellow Researchers and Collectors:

Last request for today. Thank you so much!

This photo dedication comes from a set of about 6 photos. Each photo has a group of sailors standing on the same steps. The guy I have marked with the green arrow is in every photo. In two photos from the set, he is standing in the front row and wears a HSK badge.

Only this photo has a dedication on the reverse.

Hopefully there is a clue in here that will help me identify the HSK sailor.

                              Thanks!
