The dates are no problem.

I would have guessed that a Doctor would have an officer's commission, but am I right that this man is an NCO Dr. of Veterinary Medicine?

He writes to his parents that the "Russen" poisoned the horses, and one company alone had 26 horses killed, including their two best ones.
