    Here the German text:

    " O. U., den 17.4.40

    Liebe Tante Karla,

Aufwiedersehen, Euer Vati "

In general Hank did a good translation. Only a few words I want to add:

                  # 5892

"...und der Angst, dass es dauern . ...zum Osterfest 1947 Dein Heinz"

                  # 5893

" Dem Bild ein Blick, dem Original ein

                  freundliches Gedenken.

Dies schrieb zum ewigen Andenken (...??) Fritz Ludwig, Hildegard

                  Ludwig, Grünberg/..?"

9 March. 30 English Torpedo aircraft from an aircraft carrier attack our our ship. The white clouds are flaks bursts. The white foamy wakes are torpedo trails. By just a hair our fate misses being that of the "Bismarck". 30 torpedos are not (unknown word). Photo is secret!!!
