        Hi all

        Im English and have no idea of the german language. Can someone please translate these letters from a soldier of the 29th Infantry Division which was destroyed at Stalingrad. Hans Leitert was missing inaction on 30th january 1943.

                  The first three simply say he's doing well and the weather is nice. Also mentions receiving a couple packages he hadn't opened yet and was sending a few front newspapers home for them to read and keep. Wii have to do the others later...

                    The Last Name Is......

                    Hello All:

                    I recently got two unassuming KM portraits of one Matrosengefreiter. No badges in wear or anything highly collectible about the two portraits. I really just want to assign a name to the photos and do a bit of research to see if I can research his history a bit.

                    Problem being, I cannot figure out what his last name is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

                          In a newspaper March/April 2011 I found this guy in a list of persons deceased in Nürnberg-Fürth.
                          It could be your guy (?). 89 years old.
