It is interesting but in the Volksbund list there is not even one soldier listed with the name "Pachler" and in the recent German phone book there are listed only 29 "Pachler". It seems that the name is not so often in Germany.

That is interesting, I guess thats way the bundesarchiv had no information on the name. Here is how its written in the helmet.

I made a check in the recent Austrian phone book and found about 437 entries "Pachler".

It seems that your guy came from Austria !

I need help with a Wehrpas entry which is attached. I read "Marine" as the first word and "Berlin" as the last the middle word I'm having trouble with. The middle word is "Kommand????-K???".

        Thanks as always.

Thanks Trebes and also for the youtube link. I thought that's what it might possibly be but I couldn't find any reference to it when I "googled" it. Do you know what the function or job of the Marine-Kommandierten-Kompanie was?

              Sorry, no idea.
When you google for the conductor of the choir, Stabsoberfeldwebel Carl-Josef Trümper, you find:
"Matrosenchor der Marine-Stabskompanie beim Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine"
So this "Marine-Stabskompanie beim OKM" is perhaps an alternative name of the company in question, which might help you to find out more.
