Thanks for your help. So it would seem that Hilde went a winery in a French castle with another girl named Hilde. Interesting. Below I've enlarged Geffken's grave marker. Maybe you can make it out now. It looked like his grave was surrounded by shell casings.

It does seem to be 14 Fla Kompanie 60th Motorized Infantry Regiment. What would Fla. stand for and does anyone know anything about the 60th Regiment? They were obviously fighting in Southern Russia when Hans was killed.

Fla means Flak (anti-aircraft)

Thanks for the link to Hans' unit. Now it makes sense that he was a gun chief. He was in a Wehrmacht flak unit.
