What was happening around october? The Polish campaign right, thats where it sais he was in his wehrpass.

The EKII is for the Polish campaign but by october it was over. The date reflects the date of award rather than the date it was earned.

'im felde' simply refers to the division being 'in the field' ie. out of it's permanent home barracks.

Yes the polish campaign was over by then, so could this have been part of a larger award ceremony for peoples actions during the campaign?
