F2613/ South Hampton, the target of a German bomber attack.
The shipyard of South Hampton was lately reportedly the target of effective German air attacks. Our picture shows the harbor of South Hampton, not only the largest dry-docks in the world, but also an important harbor for passenger steamers. The freight workers received and shipped overseas in South Hampton in 1937 over 65 million pounds of sterling merchandise.

            6743/ Ready for new operations.
We are with a battle group at a field airport. New bombs lie ready to be loaded. After a short break, the aircraft (HE-111) is armed and readied for new operations.

You can barely see the numbers on the side of the aircraft...9K FS. Can anyone provide a history of this aircraft or identify which unit this may have been in?

              Hi Todd,

it`s He 111H from 8./KG51 but I`m not sure when III./KG51 had been re-equipped with Ju 88As. Hence this photo could be taken during Western Campaign and not during BoB.

              Regards

              Robert

The ground personnel are indefatigable while performing the heavy work in the heat of the airfield. They are mindful of the high responsibility on maintaining their aircraft.
