Hello Steve,
I`m asking about Your post #196. Is it original period photo ?
This is important matter for me because I`ve got in my small collection exactly the same phhoto Unbelievable ....
Any markings on the other side ???
Really? I just checked the photo and it appears to be a private portrait. The photo I have has obviously been removed from an album as it has the remains of the cardboard and glue on the rear. These postcard shots were made into more than one shot so they could be sent to freinds and family, so duplicates are possible. In this thread I show a photo I have a duplicate of, that was obtained over a year later from a different source, in a different country in a group of random paper items. It was an pretty crazy find, but it happened. You could very well have a duplicate, but both would be considered authentic. Can you show it?
You`re from Canada..... I live in Poland, only about 50 km from city Nysa (Neisse, O.S.) where this photo was taken.....what a history
It's amazing isn't it? I will show the rear of mine tonight, but it looks like the same photo for sure. Like I said, duplicates aren't uncommon when you collect postcard portraits, but they usually come from the same source. Thanks for showing it.
