Otto Skorzeny Knights Cross Papers ++

well my good friend owns almost all of Otto Skorzeny's paperwork and his Bund cap, Bund Award (bronze eagle) for rescuing Mussolini of the Mountain top, his Green SS Uniform and SS Cap, around 20-30 Doc's, couple belts from Otto, his engraved German Cross in Gold cased, and a little more.

but here is a copy of his Preliminary Knights Cross Doc and German Cross Doc so far. I haven't really gotten good photos of the rest, really not my cup of tea so never have yet, but will.

hope you guy's enjoy, Also all the Doc's have been sent to Bender and he has a letter from him too saying he thought it all was in Spain. til he was sent what he received in the mail to inspect.

An over all shot of his case they are in with his engraved GCG, the Knights Cross is not Otto's, we don't know where that is yet.

I thought the Ritterkreuz docs were supposed to have gold lettering?

I think so too, but this is the prelim. document. I'm assuming that's why it's not in gold?

Yup, it's the formal doc that's gold leaf.

                  Hello,

What is the provenance of this group?

(It seems that the prelim. doc doesn't have a OKH stamp.)

                  Cheers,
                  Peter

I remember seeing a picture on here with a RK sold by Wolfe and Hardin, that was being advertised with a photo of Skorzeny next to the cross. So I thought that was his cross. Maybe they still have it?
Search some of the old Max or Sos threads and you will probably see it.

                    Cool group!

                      Peter.....I don't see a stamp neither !!!

And I like to see better scans/photos of the documents.

That Schmundt sig looks very wrong.

The rank is abbreviated incorrectly but from what i've seen it shouldn't be abbreviated at all. The lack of stamp (or is it hidden behind the reflection?)

The stamp on the DK doc is wrong too.

I'm sure the "big names" have or will shortly verify this grouping.

Well as I stated I'm not a Document guy nor an SS guy, but I am going over tomorrow and I will get better shots of what I can. But I did notice that some of his Doc's were stamped Names? But can't remember what ones. I do know he has a Licence of Otto's too, I think it was for an Engineer from another Country too??

Also didn't Hitlers Signature change over time too? so I have no idea what his signature looked like at what year??

The grouping does have a Providence, and I don't know it, but will try to get more. If he let's me photo all of it I will post what I can.

                              thanks greg koepp
