Does Anyone Have Pics of TR Uniforms on US Soil?

Very enjoyable thread! this is the kind of history sleuthing the WA forum can facillitate. As to "lack of courage, " another way of saying it could be "cowardly like a fox," or "strategic diplomacy" like how the proto-Luftwaffe was kept underwraps when the Brits were around so as to keep the British intelligence lulled--or so I have read.
It would be truly stunning to imagine SS uniforms worn in the U.S.
You may find some kind of Nazi unforms if there are photos of Nazi officials ever meeting with any American Bundists (ethnic german pro-nazi Americans). Although that may not have been allowed either.

I think we are just seeing normal diplomatic custom of the time (and today as well)

Attache where and are diplomat first and military men second. Uniforms where reserved for offical military occaions. For example the only time I have see a Chiniese attache where his uniform here in Ottawa was on November 11th and at the comminossing of the HMCS Ottawa back in 96.

As for an SS uniform in the US they where of course largly a police force so why would they wear thier uniform???

Thanks, ZacharyB; good additions to this thread. FYI, both of those photos were taken at Camp Siegfried, the German-American Bund summer camp located in Yaphank, Long Island, NY. If you Google "Camp Siegfried" you'll find another photo taken in front of this same display/tribune during the pre-WWII years this camp operated.

No. The caption identifies the place as being the Cerro Santa Lucía, which is a hill and park in Santiago de Chile.
