OFW: I believe it is Bund related. Note the hanging flag with a similar cog-wheel:

      Hello stonemint:
Ah yes, as shown in that superb Texas Bund collection
that took first place at the MAX some years ago. Thanks

Found another view of the same event.
These pics were taken at the funeral services held on the Hamburg-American pier in New York City, on May 11, 1937. The swastika-draped caskets were placed on board the SS Hamburg for their return to Europe.(AP Photo/Anthony Camerano)

                  Oh, the irony:

"Foreign attaches observe New England war games Redford, N.Y. - Left to right during the U.S. Army war maneuvers and sham-battle invasion of New England by a mythical "enemy" are Col. T[akatoshi] Nakamura, Japanese Military Attache, Brig. General Walter C. Short, Commander of the 1st Deivision [i.e. Division] Blue Army, and Lieut. General Friederich von Boetticher, German Military Attache, pictured as they watch the maneuvers."

                    Pow

not exactly what you intended but technically accurate,
POW Frank Schmid in Ft Jackson, SC.

However, as he is still showing his LW eagle and Flak badge, I am not sure if this was a photo taken at the camp or a remnant from his pre-capture days. He doesn't look too happy, that's for sure.

Thanks, but no, what I am looking for are pics of the period of 1933-Dec 10th, 1941, of visits by uniformed TR organisations on US soil, whether as part of a diplomatic mission, inspection, joint US-German troops review, or even an HJ visit.

No uniform, but this is the flag at the German Embassy in Washington, DC being flown at half-staff in honor of the Hindenburg victims:

Does anyone have any more info about this visit? It's rather scarce to hear of the Third Reich and US Marine Corps crossing paths
