It's Latvian, of course. Published in Imanta, a suburb of Riga.

Based on the translation below - Nicibas could mean Ruins, Viseulos could mean something like Visions - so the title might mean Visions of Ruins (sort of like Visions of War).

DIEVS TAVA ZEME DEG! CIEMI UN PILSETAS GRUVEVOS NICIBAS PUTEKLOS TRIEKTAS [God your land is burning! Villages and towns in ruins, blown away like particles
                      of dust]

                          Hi,

The title actually translates roughly as "The Transient Storm/Whirlwind" and Imanta was a publishing house based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The afterword or pecvardi shows that the book deals with the battles of Volchov and of Kurland. Janis Sudrabins the author of this book was himself a legionnaire in the 19th division during the war. Are there many pictures in the book? I have actually seen a few pictures of Sudrabins in his uniform in other books, are there any of him in this book?

                          Regards,

                          Chris

                            Thanks for the corrections.
On my better screen at home, I can see the Kopenhagen below Imanta, so that matches more obvious what you say. And not knowing Latvian, I had guessed that Nicibas was associated with "ruins" rather than "blown away".

                            Language is a fun puzzle!
