I do not know about that man, but can I see a close-up of that profile of that man on the album? It looks like a Mussolini profile, not a German man's.

It is even less clear now! I mean, the face no longer looks like Mussolini, but I guess that helmet has an eagle on the decal?

I'm lost, don't listen to me!

A better pic of the man would help, but he probably is the Regimental Commander of the man who got the photo album of and I would think it highly unlikely that anyone would recognise him. Cheers, Torsten.

PS: The helmetted Wehrmacht soldier on the front cover is a standard design. There are other pins and badges and plaques with the same man.

              Hey Pardner (Tex Mansal),

The question was about the photo in the album...not about the emblem on the outside!

              Hobbsey,

The flash of your camera certainly does not help in the identification. Try taking a picture without flash in the daylight possibly outside. These types of photos are common place unless you have a location or something else in the album that may identify the unit...i.e., more information. Even so it would be very hard to identify this decorated officer who probably won most of his medals in the First war. Bill

Yes I know, but the original thread poster sent me a PM when he had a picture of the close-up so it would have been rude for him to go through the work and not re-post.

                  Mansal,

Got the sent PM part but ???????????? after that! Don't take this personally but When you said "I don't know about that man" that is where you should have stopped because you had nothing constructive to say after that.
I agree with Torsten...the likelyhood of identifying this officer is pretty slim. If he was a highly decorated officer in WW2 then the chances of identifying him increases. Are there anymore photos of him in the album, also sometimes the reverse side of the photo has further information that could help in the ID of those on the front of the photo.
