PS: The helmetted Wehrmacht soldier on the front cover is a standard design. There are other pins and badges and plaques with the same man.

The question was about the photo in the album...not about the emblem on the outside!

The flash of your camera certainly does not help in the identification. Try taking a picture without flash in the daylight possibly outside. These types of photos are common place unless you have a location or something else in the album that may identify the unit...i.e., more information. Even so it would be very hard to identify this decorated officer who probably won most of his medals in the First war. Bill

Got the sent PM part but ???????????? after that! Don't take this personally but When you said "I don't know about that man" that is where you should have stopped because you had nothing constructive to say after that.
I agree with Torsten...the likelyhood of identifying this officer is pretty slim. If he was a highly decorated officer in WW2 then the chances of identifying him increases. Are there anymore photos of him in the album, also sometimes the reverse side of the photo has further information that could help in the ID of those on the front of the photo.
