I wouldn't normally post a photograph from ebay on this forum, but this photo deserves special attention. Take a close look at the soldier on the far left. He is wearing the Sonderverband 287 sleeve patch and below that the sleeve insignia worn by members of General von Pannwitz's 'Konvoi' or escort unit of the XV Cossack Corps. The soldier on the right also appears to be wearing both insignia.

The soldier sitting down is wearing the escort unit patch of the XV Cossack Corps.

        **Note: I edited the photograph.

The last photo is the photo of Standarten-oberjunker Ricardo B.M., who escaped the encirclement of Berlin in April 20th 1945. He is still alive and living in Spain today

                                Hi PzV

I noticed something quite unusual or possibly even rare with the picture of this German personnel of the Indian Legion.

If you look at his shoulder clasps, you noticed that a tricolour band was worn. It looks to me like the colors of India (saffron orange, white and green) rather than the German black-white-red.

Do you know if this is standard regulation style for the German cadres in the Indian Legion?

                                Many thanks
