One of my favorite photos, it is such a beautiful picture. It is taken near Leningrad, the Flemish Legion met occasionaly with the Spanish volunteers in this sector. We may say they were becoming very good comrades as they laughed, fought (and died) together.

These little guy could be some of the volunteers so called "hiwi", which served with german army.
Really nice pictures of some moments of friendship.

Number 2 for example got his leg amputated. Bert P. always smiles on photographs, I've more photos of him, he always smiles. You got to love him.
