    Hello all. Excellent photos.....Comment on #218 : the one with the 2 handschar reading mein kampf is a modern photo of re-enactors...note the fez tassles...the good fortune of the bandenkampfabzeichen award on the uniform (not unheard of...but) and if the previous 2 issues don't convince...this mein kampf is a modern gloss paperback with isbn bar code on the book's backing. thanks for your attention.

      Nice thread, a little dusty though. How about that photo from my collection?
      It shows two soldiers of Turkistan Legion with 1st pattern unit shield.

          These are soldiers of the Russkaya Natsionalnaya Narodnaya Armiya (RNNA/ PHHA). A unit consisting of Soviet defectors who fought for the Germans that is very unique because they all fought with their ex-Red Army uniforms and equipments (with modified insignias).

            Right, two likely looking reenactors, from the Italian living history group Progetto900 AFAIK. But there's plenty of period pics showing the Bandenkamnpfabzeichen pinned to the uniform.
