    Foreign Awards to German Soldiers

In my opinion documents of awards are much more interesting than the badges. They always tell a small story of the soldier and you can start research.
I think it cant be a problem for the collectors of this forum to start some great topics like we do it on the main forum.

I will start here with a topic over foreign award documents to german soldiers.

Document collectors please show us what you have to this subject!!!

The document I post pictures of was given to a german submarine Maschinenmaat. The rumänische navy award him the rumänien submarine badge for training the rumänien submarine soldiers on their new submarines.
The rumänien navy had only two submarines. Both would given to them by the germans. So their can be only around 100 awards to rumänien soldiers and maybe between 5 and 10 to german soldiers.

Thanks to Mark Schroeder for his help with the photos.

Not as rare as the document presented by Kai, is the Bulgarian pilote badge given to G. Bach (Officer in KG3 later moved to NJG2)
Double face, written both in Bulgarian and German).
    G. Bach, also received the Hungarian Pilot badge

    Friendly
    François

Interesting to compare the dates and attribution #s, here is another Bulgarian Pilote badge document for Oberfeldwebel Ludger Hessling from a Nahaufklärungsstaffel (11./11).He was a DKiG and Honor goblet winner.
Date is July 1941 with # 832, while Bach (also DKiG and Honor goblet winner) is dated July 1942 with the # 4179.
We can assume that this double text doc were issued only to Foreign soldiers, and probably mostly to German soldiers/pilots.

      * This document is not mine anymore
      Friendly
      François

On the super nice docs posted by my friend Eric, I notice two interesting points on the Italian document:
            - They describe why he was given "The Cross of Valor" (on the field). Which is not generally the case.
            - And that from Georg he is going to "Giorgio" - maybe a way to share the prestige of such soldier.
            As usual, super docs

                Hello,

And mayby a little background info on Francois awards :

On the right we see a nice version off the Croatian Pilots badge , it is a badge second type .
This kind off badge could be awarded to all trained pilots ( fighter and bomber ) , sometime the number off the award could be found on the reverse off the badge and this one is most probably made by " Braca Knaus - Zagreb "

THe other award is the Military order off the trefoil 4 e class ( the ribbon is atypical identification for the class of these Croatian awards. )

                Friendly Greetings,

Here's a head scratcher for me. It's Estonian judging from the three lions, but what is it for?

Having problems posting this one for some reason. I'll try again tomorrow.

                        Hello,

About the next picture FRancois posted , you can also see the Croatian Pilots badge , the other 2 awards are Rumanian ( both are different classes off the Rumanian order off the crown !!!!! )

This Rumanian award was instituted on 10.05.1877 by king Karl I from Rumania ( there are two section => civil and military ( thie military section has swords !!!!! )
This is an award that was given frequently to German's.

Also very nice to see is that the small LW eagles on his ribbon bar are tending to rotate !!!! ( something i had not been seen untill now with GErman's )

                        And superpictures FRancois

Sorry steve on yours i can not comment => the picture from the award is not clear enough ????

                        Friendly Greetings,
