That was at least the truck I was thinking of and maybe the trailer as well.
And...of course it is a 1937 Ford, not a 1939.

I will keep looking for the photos I was thinking of and as I recall the vehicle/s were in civilian livery at the time the photos were taken.

I have a feeling they are in a batch of about 5,000 photos on my hard drive that got improperly transferred and lost all the original captions which were converted by the computer into a string of letters and numbers. Takes a bit of time to go through them all and re-caption them.

The open door on this Steyr 640 blocks the possible view of the Red Cross motif, but, as an ambulance, it's use as a "gun bus" would seem to be against the rules.
